Happy Birthday, Claire!

Happy Birthday to our sweet 1 year old! So hard to believe one year has passed since this:

Claire, you are our greatest joy! We love you and love being your parents. We love that our friends and family are still as excited about you as they were on day one in this video: 12/29/10. I'm glad we started this blog to document milestones and I am excited to think about what the next year may have in store for us.

Christmas 2011 Part I

Back home and finally catching up! We had a wonderful Christmas beginning in St. Louis. Aunt Lyle and Uncle Ray hosted us for dinner last Sunday before we flew out to NC on Monday morning. Claire was sick but still enjoyed the visit.

We arrived in Greensboro on Monday afternoon with a sick baby.

Claire earned her Delta wings and a big bottle for flying while sick.

First visit to Costco.

Exploring Katie and Abby's dog crates.

Claire helped Nani bake rolls. She probably made 8 dozen while we were there. I swear we didn't eat them all, many were made for gifts.

Hope you had a very Merry Christmas!

Christmas comes early!

This weekend we were in Liberty to celebrate Christmas with Nana, Doc, Aunt Meredith, Grandma Louise, and Grandpa Trueman. We had a wonderful time as always, Nana prepared a great lunch on Sunday and Claire got her first taste of unwrapping gifts. She loves her new puzzles, snow suit, clothes, bath toys, books, eating accessories, and Elf on the Shelf. Thank you for celebrating Christmas early with us! We love you.

Claire worked on climbing the stairs this weekend--repeatedly.

these boots were made for walking

...and thats just what they'll do. Someday. Check out Claire's new boots:
She isn't walking yet and my prediction is that she won't walk until 13 months. Adam's prediction is 14 months. Thoughts from our readers? What is your prediction on when C will walk?

We are thankful

We hope each of you had a nice Thanksgiving! We spent Claire's first Thanksgiving in KC with family and friends and had a wonderful time.

The weather was beautiful and allowed everyone to get outside and enjoy the day.

Tiny Diner

Claire and I went to lunch together on Saturday. She is an excellent dining companion: good conversation, manners, and  she's a real "foodie". All of her culinary gifts will surely come into play this week, as we celebrate Thanksgiving with the Troutwines in Liberty! Can't wait!!

Claire's monthly photo shoot

Claire is 10 months old and on the move. She doesn't have much patience or time for lying on her back for her monthly photo shoot. We tried twice and these are the best pics we took:

Much happier crawling and playing on the floor

Brad and Nichole's wedding weekend

Congratulations to Nichole and Brad! Such a beautiful weekend, we are very happy for you two!! We had a great time in Savannah, arriving on Thursday night. Our home for the weekend was a townhouse on E. Perry Street, close to shopping, restaurants, downtown Savannah, etc. On Friday after the rehearsal we went to Lady and Sons for the rehearsal dinner followed by drinks at Nichole's parents beach house for the week at Tybee Island. Claire's first time to the beach. It was too dark out for her to really get a sense of it, so we will have to visit again soon. We got back to Perry Street on Friday night to watch the Cardinals WIN the World Series. Still cannot believe they won! The rest of the weekend was just as exciting...photo overload:

RECEPTION

Reaction after the surprise pacifier toss: Adam and Claire were standing on the 2nd floor balcony  and Claire flung her pacifier down below, landing in Granny's drink. Oops! Very funny moment.
